Catastrofear ist kein Kindergeburtstag. Eher das Gegenteil. Hart, brutal, erbaurmungslos prügeln die fünf Jungs auf ihre Gerätschaft ein und rauben dem Livepublikum die Luft zum atmen. Die grenzenlos tiefen shoutings und growlings von Frontmann Roly lassen die Luft knapp über dem Boden vibrieren. Catastrofear schafft mit seinem rauen Sound eine ganz eigene Atmosphäre. Tonnenschwer, behäbig, schwarz und düster rollt die Deathmetal - Lawine aus den Boxen, die alles mit sich nieder ins Tal reißt. Auch wenn hier klassischer Old-School Midtempo-Deathmetal fast den Hauptteil des Charakters ausmacht, wird immer wieder mit thrashigen Gitarrenläufen Schwung in die Sache gebracht. Schnell, technisch versiert, frickelig mit schönen, einprägsamen Melodiebögen, werden die Songs gespickt. Gerade das verleiht dem Ganzen den leicht angestaubten, coolen Retro-Charakter.

Catastrofear is not a birthday party. Rather the opposite. The five guys beat their equipment hard, brutal and relentless, so the live-audience has no chance to breathe anymore. The boundless deep shouting and growling of Roly the front man, makes the ground shaking. Catastrofear creates a unique atmosphere with its harsh sound. Heavy, complacent, black and dark the Death-Metal-avalanche rolls out of the boxes, to break down everything. Although classic old-school mid-tempo death-metal is the main part of the character, thrashy riffs boost the songs. The songs are riddled with quick, technically adept and beautiful, memorable melody arches. Exactly this makes the whole slightly dusty, retro-cool character.
